I am so grateful for Judge Immergut and the many other lower court judges who have defended our Constitution. And grateful to you as well, for your excellent write-ups of these events as they unfold.
Adam, DJT has now literally declared war upon three of OUR States! Is there really nothing that can be done legally prior to the Midterms??? That’s what she Substack leaders seem to be saying. Can we ask the UN for help, for example? We need some out of the box thinking. What say you?
The reality on the ground: The troops in Los Angeles cannot engage in civilian law enforcement. They're blocked entirely from deploying in Oregon. They haven't deployed in Chicago. The biggest challenge will be educating voters not to feel intimidated by Trump's phony declarations of war for his private political gain.
So, DJT is sending troops from CA to Oregon because they’re already federalized. And he’s ignoring the Governor of Illinois and the Mayor of Chicago and the troops are on their way. In fact, last night they landed Blackhawk Helicopters on an apartment building in the middle of the night,and even tied children’s hands behind their backs and detained them for hours in a U-Haul truck. So it goes on and on. Who exactly is going to stop him? Also, He seems to be okay with ignoring court orders in many instances-or dragging things out via appeals until he gets what he wants from the Supreme Court.
The Black Hawk raid of the Chicago apartment was ICE, not the National Guard. The scenes on the ground there are outrageous. It’s also important to identify which government agencies are responsible for which abuses. That’s not to minimize them but to properly confront them.
Thanks for clarifying! Recent judicial rulings, even from judges appointed by Trump, are making me feel a glimmer of hope. Now if the snarky six Supremes come to their senses, the worm will finally turn. I hope your arm is healing.
