Adam, as disturbing as this Rep. LaMonica McIver case is, I thank you for keeping it where we can know how it is being tried. I only wish we had another judge like Judge Thomas Ambro, to have a say. Please keep us posted.
Except for a few brave, terrific judges, our court system as a whole is failing to react to the authoritarian threats to our democracy and freedoms with the speed or decisiveness required. We’ve seen the Trump Gangster State indict both a judge and a member of Congress - along with so many other abuses - and the courts just letting it happen with a yawn.
As have every yawning member of Congress who have allowed the Felon and his destructive bulldozing of the rights, privileges and Constitutional responsibilities of the Legislative Branch. Had the Republicans upheld their sworn responsibilities to the Constitution and not fallen into their role of rubber stamps to the illegalities of this corrupt administration and it's appointments of malicious and incompetent sycophants , it would not solely be the judges on whom we now depend for the survival of our democracy and the rights guaranteed us all therein.
What travesty and a blatant attack on Rep. McIver, singling her out for retribution while carrying out her responsibilities as a responsible lawmaker. The comparisons of how she is being treated compared to the Jan. 6th criminals speaks volumes. Thank you, Adam, for following this critically important case.
