Well I suspected they’d cave. Blanche would find a way to get his votes and still keep the “slush fund”. Worse is the tax immunity. Trump has bragged not paying taxes “makes me smart” if I remember the correct words he used in debate with Clinton. Wouldn’t we all like to not pay taxes? That the very wealthy already pay less tax than most and rather than use their wealth to help others, as only a few do, they buy politicians to give them and their businesses more relief. Shame on them and shame on the rest of us for allowing it.

It’s pretty hard to squeeze good news out of this slimy announcement since everyone involved in it is as trustworthy as their leader. It ain’t over yet!

Unprincipled, immoral, zero integrity = the entire GOP and establishment/corporate politicians.

Bring back the rule of law, bring back the power of the people, bring back our American Constitution.

This is outrageous! First, it maintains a patent grift that lets our corrupt president and everyone in his orbit avoid justice for their thefts.Second, there is no promise not to create a new way for us to reward the 1/6 rioters with our tax money. There must be some graft reward headed for Tillis and Conryn.

Thanks for filling in the details Adam! Oh what creepy spiders they have all become. I cannot wait until November when many of them will be gone.

I am livid. For a hot minute I thought Cornyn would nix the nomination as a parting FU to Trump for not rewarding his 99% slavish following and throwing him under the bus with the Paxton endorsement. Let’s see where he lands after his senate career is over and then we might have the answer.

Outrageous. I knew they would cave. Not a spine one any of them. Trump and his family have gotten away with murder. This is like season 26 of "The Sopranos" where Tony becomes President. I am so disgusted. We will never make it to 2028. I am desolate every day.

As S. Collins (R-Maine) would say.... "Well, at least Cornyn and Tillis learned a lesson!"

“The gentlemen’s agreement between Blanche and the senators lets Trump keep his enforceable agreement.”

With this the “Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact” springs to mind. Another gentlemen’s agreement. Another ticking time bomb.

Apparently, these “Gentlemen” prefer bombs.

Look at these two old white dudes in the photo. Holding the balance of this bullshit of a corruption enterprise together even after trump shafted them. What the fuck is in it for them? Hope at minimum, their states elect actual humans for their seats and not more corrupted ‘civil’ servants.

Thank you Adam for your comprehensive reporting and analysis. This report underscores the troubling state of corporate media that habitually misrepresents the real politik and reality of a government gone rogue. Democracy depends on its function if the fourth estate is genuinely intact and voters gain the insights critical for a future functioning republic. After the midterms, we will have an arduous way back to recreating our democracy and replacing a dysfunctional regime with a sustainable government that consistently promotes the rule of law/Constitutional safeguards to prevent future tyrannical regimes.
