This past year has brought me increasing disgust and despair about this country - ICE activity everywhere is unconscionable. And now this abominable verdict. Is there any hope left for this country?
I still don’t see how she was found guilty of obstruction. She simply asked the agents to go to the chief judge. They arrested him just out side the court house. The ice agent rode down the elevator with him!
I'm sorry but Judge Cristela Cervera makes me wonder if she isn't afraid of ICE & DHS... her sister is in court the next day is she a judge or facing a judge.... Judge Cervera's last name would make these ICE monsters salivate that they have another one to grab....she was way out of line and she knew it.. who is she protecting? Sorry what she did boggles the mind
When I was a young adult, I was glued to the tv over the entire Watergate prosecution. Then I got a break until Iran/Contra. Then we had the ridiculous Clarence Thomas nomination to the SCOTUS and, in spite of it being clear he had exercised clear moral torpitude, we are stuck with him to this day. Finally, the absurd impeachment of Bill Clinton over his activities with a consenting adult.
Why I bring this up: I am pushing 78. After COVID I thought life would return to normal, Trump gone, masks optional, Biden healing the wounds in spite of constant and vicious opposition from - guess - the Republicans.
If there is any way to return our Democracy to a functional process and return WA DC to the state of "No Drama Obama," I could live out my last few years not paying constant attention to the BS stew that seems to be the only thing Republicans are capable of.
All you people whinging on about "what do we tell our children?," you already blew your credibility. More to the point, what do you tell youselves?

I heard today that sentencing may not even happen until summer of next year, and appeals could take yo to a year
