Adam, as a retired lawyer who clerked long ago for a judge in the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio I am awed by your grasp of the law and your reporting of complex issues so clearly. YOU are America! WE are America! Heartfelt thanks for helping us to pledge our sacred honor for our country!

Happy 4th, Adam. Even Scots-Irish southerners are immigrants, and when we cease to remember our origins and get “above our rearing,” as we say down here, we lose our souls. Thank you for being an outspoken reporter of the fight for justice in our democracy.

As always, Adam, you inspire us with your thoughtful and well-chosen coverage of what is most meaningful to our understanding of our current events. Thank you, you are a jewel in the crown of journalism.

Happy 4th of July to all America.. each of us, whether born, naturalized or desiring to become a part of this diverse, creative, land, that as written by Thomas Jefferson in our Declaration of Independence, we are promised the right to seek “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”, Together we stand for equity.. true democracy.

Thank you Adam for providing Justice Jackson’s “Call of Remembrance”. Your recitation will be the highlight keynote speech for our family’s 2026 July 4th day of celebration.

Reba,

granddaughter of General Oliver Wolcott, member of the Second Continental Congress and Signer of the Declaration of Independence. 1776

( Fun fact: In 1776, Oliver helped tear down a gilded lead statue of King George III in New York City. The lead was shipped to his estate in Litchfield, Connecticut, where our family and local patriots melted it down to manufacture 42,088 bullets for the Continental Army)

What a lovely way to honor the best aspects of our democratic structure. I gave pocket copies of the Constitution to my guests at my pre- Fourth party last week, and everyone thanked me because we hear it batted around snd excerpted and interpreted but it's necessary to read it, the Bill of Rights, and the Amendments for ourselves right now.

I hope you will record the reading! Happy 4th!

“We have it in our power to begin the world over again.” Thomas Paine, Common Sense. YES WE CAN!! Barack Obama.

Let’s start by listening to Abraham Lincoln who in 1854 said, “Let us re-adopt the Declaration of Independence, and with it, the practices, and policy which harmonize with it.” What kind of country do WE want to create? Now’s our chance to make it happen!

Thank you, Adam. Very proud of you, sir!

Today I will celebrate our Day of Independence by attending two separate INDIVISIBLE organized protests after which I’ll begin my read of the book “AMERICA, U.S.A., How Race Shadows the Nation’s Anniversaries” by Princeton professor Eddie Glaude Jr..

Justice Jackson's Call of Remembrance is so important to read and hear! She is the brave voice and heart and it's time to align with her. She is telling the truth about the faint-hearted and half-hearted majority opinion and lightweight Kavanaugh's effort to whistle to MAGA about next steps to pare down birthright by soil. This isn't a "whew." It's just the first round.
