"Court Accountability’s executive director Lisa Graves called the ruling the culmination of the chief justice’s “determination to erect an imperial presidency under the guise of the made-up ‘unitary executive theory.’”
Lawyers for Good Government’s co-founder Gary DiBianco said the ruling hands Trump “unchecked power to purge expert, nonpartisan commissions for purely political reasons, clearing the way to dismantle the independence of institutions Americans have relied on for decades to protect their health, finances, and safety.”
Even though SCOTUS made the right call on voting rights, it is sickening to hear Alito & his cohorts bring baseless voter fraud conspiracy theory twaddle to the highest court in the land. A legal system in which lies have equal weight with the truth will be doomed to fail.
Thank you, Adam. It will be interesting to see how a future Democratic president will wield the expanded executive power created by the overturning of Humphrey’s Executor precedent. Is it reasonable to speculate that from this decision future legislatures will be motivated to become more active in checking presidential authority?
Any new intel to share on the Anthropic business? Rumor has it that the Pope recently filed an amicus brief on behalf of the plaintiffs. Just askin’.
This is absolutely a disaster for our country:

Hits and misses today. Thank you for the summary.

Adam, yours is the best explanation of and commentary on the Slaughter decision I've read all day. (And "slaughter" is sure to result.)
Has anyone ever sued the Supreme Court?
