Harry, please don't get ahead of yourself by saying what you think the congressional Republicans will do. History tells us that the only thing congressional Republicans feel they must do is bow, scrape, grovel, and whimper in front of Trump and his minions.
It is difficult for Republican members of Congress to do anything when they are all hiding under their beds hoping that Trump won't see them.
So far, almost the only Republicans who ever stand up to Trump are those who are retiring or have lost their seats, often because Trump endorsed a primary opponent. Actual courage is absent. Standing up for the law, Constitution, or principles is virtually unknown. Those who do stand up, don't survive politically. We must never forget that many of these Republicans witnessed the 2021 insurrection while cowering in the Capitol fearing for their lives, but were then unwilling to vote to impeach or, in the Senate, to convict Trump for his criminal behavior. Had they displayed a shred of integrity, they could have eliminated the possibility of a future threat from Trump. They aren't any more courageous, principled, or intelligent today.

Abandoning the sacred trust and showing they don't care. 🗺️
For history repeats itself when citizens let go,
Of democratic guardrails that keep out the tyrant's blow.
When cruelty is normalized and facts are cast aside,
That is the exact moment where the darkest forces hide. ⏳
So we must share the facts each day and spread the word around,
To keep our republic safe and keep our freedom sound.
